21st Century Queen Anne Chair
A figurative sculpture series based on a traditional Queen Anne chair. Many chairs throughout the history of furniture have used human form and animals as a resource for design. Here Terry Bostwick has gone a step further and has done a collaborative series suggesting personality and attitude. Note the parts of the chair, such as the back leg (arms), bow (shoulders), crest rail (neck), the backsplat (torso), the knee, and the pad foot. They are parts used both on a historical Queen Anne chair as well as the 21st Century version (taking some liberties).
